Because in case you haven’t heard, someone self-immolated in front of the Israeli consulate in Atlanta GA in December. It got very little attention and I don’t think anyone in the media has even bothered to try and find out if they survived.

the NYT has already decided to not mention any of his speech in their reporting, importantly him declaring that he is active duty and that “I will no longer be complicit in genocide. Free Palestine.”

self immolation is one of the most extreme forms of protest one can do, and the fact that the media is already trying to suppress it should signify that even more to you. there are graphic videos online, tread carefully etc, but do not let this action become quieted. let it be the turning point it should be.

Another ICJ hearing is starting now in regards to Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories. This is the result of a UNGA resolution from 2022 for the ICJ to give a nonbinding opinion on the legal consequences of Israel’s occupation from 1967 to present day.

This is not related to South Africa’s case

Canada pulled out at the last minute, I don’t believe they’ve given a reason why. My guess is that they were probably going to defend Israel, as I imagine every western power presenting arguments will, but the writing is on the wall and they want to protect their image.

no offence but the reason tumblr is “dying” is, well, yes, of course the cursed like/reblog ratio and the change in user behaviour (because of people being used to how instagram and tiktok work) BUT also the lack of weekly shows. i say it with my whole chest, they don’t produce captivating and engaging stupid weekly tv shows anymore because streaming killed that so you have spikes of activity here when Something happens in general fandom or up to three days after a new season of whatever drops and then it’s a wasteland. this is obviously an old woman yelling at a cloud missing supernatural and the vampire diaries and pretty little liars and all these other shows type of post but honestly give me back weekly tv shows where i have something to watch for 40 minutes almost every day of the week after work so then i can read and reblog it on tumblr give it back for the sake of my sanity

also like i know i will be always and forever stuck in the destiel dumpster i will always be faithful to these idiots but the point is even if i wanted to move on… there is nothing new to focus on that’s lasting and ongoing. and that would be nice actually. only quick full seasons strikes and if you don’t consume it in two days after it airs it becomes mostly irrelevant and likely cancelled by the streaming service. just give me back the 23 episodes long tv shows again i am literally begging. the only ongoing and possibly never ending behemoth of a franchise right now is the mcu but i would rather eat my socks than engage with that again
